Chris Lytle is as middle-of-the-road as you’re going to get in the UFC. He made his UFC debut at UFC 45, dropping a decision to Robbie Lawler. He bounced between the UFC and regional shows over the next few years before landing a spot on season four of the Ultimate Fighter. The season featured fighters who had previously fought in the UFC, and Lytle ended up in the finals, losing a close decision to Matt Serra. Since the show, Lytle has compiled a 7-3 UFC record, his losses coming to top welterweights Matt Hughes, Thiago Alves, and Josh Koscheck.
Brian Ebersole ended up here because Carlos Condit couldn’t make it to the party. Simple as that. A career journeyman fighter, Ebersole has fought near-exclusively in Australia since 2007.
Why should you care?
Ebersole is a body here, but Chris Lytle has made his UFC career on putting on a show. This has as much relevance as Sarah Palin at a TED talk, but Palin doesn’t throw shots to the body like Lytle, either.
