In anticipation of what promises to be one of the most historic events in UFC history, UFC 129: ST-PIERRE VS. SHIELDS on April 30, 2011, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will host a press conference and free fan event at Rogers Centre on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and featherweight champion Jose Aldo will be joined by number 1 contenders Jake Shields and Mark Hominick, along with UFC President Dana White and Canadian Director of Operations Tom Wright, for a press conference at 1:00 p.m.

– GSP not thinking about Silva fight. Focusing on Shields. “Would be foolish to look past [him].”
– Shields isn’t bothered by GSP-Silva talk.
– Dana says they may open more seats if they sell out the original 42k.
– Dana: Anderson Silva didn’t sound too excited about Toronto. (if that fight vs. GSP happens)
– Dana: We’re going to do things in this arena that we’ve never done before.
– Eight screens going to be erected for people in the upper levels.
– Shields: If forced to choose, GSP is the top P4P fighter. GSP: Anderson Silva. Also the guy on my right, Jose Aldo.
