Bloody Elbow Reader Awards: Camp of the Year

Jackson’s Submission Fighting

It wasn’t a banner year for the Jackson team. Keith Jardine washed out of the UFC, lost his first post-UFC fight to Trevor Prangley, and then found himself stiffed of payment in the Dominican Republic. Nate Marquardt dropped two of three fights in 2010. And Leonard Garcia became more and more of a pariah with each undeserved decision judges awarded to him.

Despite the setbacks, the Albuquerque, New Mexico, team has a lot to celebrate. Georges St. Pierre breezed through ten rounds of championship fighting, broken up by a successful stint on the Ultimate Fighter. Rashad Evans recovered from his Lyoto Machida-induced stanky leg to defeat Thiago Silva and nemesis Quinton Jackson, earning himself a title shot at Mauricio Rua in the process. Carlos Condit picked up to two bonus checks for his performances against Rory MacDonald and Dan Hardy. The team revitalized the careers of Clay Guida and Melvin Guillard, who went a combined 6-0 in the 155-pound division in 2010.

Oh, and there’s this Jon Jones guy training there now. I hear he’s pretty good at MMA.

Full results after the jump.
