‘The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck Finale’ Conference Call Live Updates and Recap

The UFC will be hosting a conference call at 2 p.m. ET today to promote Saturday night’s “Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck” finale. Main event fighters Stephan Bonnar and Igor Pokajac will join TUF finalists Jonathan Brookins and Michael Johnson on the call.

Check back around 3 p.m. ET for a full recap of the call.

Recap

I hope the conference call isn’t representative of the card on Saturday. This was a pedestrian media event to put it nicely. Brookins and Johnson praised the coaching they received from GSP and all the coaches he brought in. Brookins stayed in Florida to train for the fight. Johnson spent a few weeks down at Greg Jackson’s camp. Brookins stated that he feels comfortable at both 145 and 155, and he will fight at whichever weight class the UFC needs him at. Brookins is the most polite guy I’ve heard on a conference call.

Stephan Bonnar and Igor Pokrajac then took over. I set an over/under of 3.5 questions for Pokrajac, who was goose-egged. Bonnar said he felt good in the first Soszynski fight, though he started a bit slow. Gareth Davies asked Bonnar about being a UFC Hall-of-Famer, remarking that he and Kevin Iole felt he was deserving. Bonnar gave an “aw shucks” response. And then the call ended.
