Heavyweight prospect Todd Duffee is no longer employed by the sport’s largest mixed martial arts promotion.
Multiple sources with knowledge of the move, and Duffee’s manager, Alex Davis, confirmed the report.

UFC reportedly planned to bring Duffee back at UFC 121 in October for a fight with Jon Madsen. But Duffee had to back away from the bout because of an ailing knee.
Being released by UFC might hurt the finances of Duffee, who has made no secret of his monetary woes. He has spoken about it with Fight magazine, and last month posted on Twitter about “being completely broke.” That account has since been deleted — the last post was Aug. 29, according to Twitter.
Duffee made $8,000 in official purse money for the May 29 bout with Russow, and $10,000 (including a $5,000 win bonus) for beating Hague. Most fighters also get money from sponsors.
