Quote of the Day: Marlon Sandro

“I still have three more fights on my contract. [After] fulfilling these fights, I’ll go to America… It’s good to fight in Japan, I won’t stop fighting there, but it’s in America that the show is the business, they invest a lot. All the major shows in Japan are in crisis. I want to go to the United States where you can earn more with sponsorships.

“I’ve got to fight out [in Japan] soon, so I’m in no hurry. I don’t want to put the cart before the horse, and I want to give back to the event that put me on the map in the fighting world. They’re my priority, but I’m thinking about my future.”

– Sengoku fighter and featherweight King of Pancrase Marlon Sandro speaking to Tatame Magazine about his future plans and the state of the Japanese fight scene.

The article also mentions that Sandro currently has no desire to fight in the WEC, where his Nova Uniao teammate Jose Aldo is the 145-pound champion.
