Boston Herald reporter Dan Duggan follows up via twitter on a report that Dan Lauzon (12-3, 0-2 UFC) would next compete at UFC 114 in May, with news that Lauzon’s opponent will be TUF Season 8 winner Efrain Escudero (12-1, 2-1 UFC):
Just heard from a UFC source: Dan Lauzon’s next fight will come at UFC 114 on May 29 against Efrain Escudero
Both fighters are coming off of disappointing submission losses (Escudero to Evan Dunham at UFN 20, and Lauzon to Coler Miller at UFC 108), and Lauzon’s situation may be even more dire since has has yet to taste victory inside the Octagon. Unfortunately for Lauzon, if he can’t get a win against the very-tough Escudero, he may find himself on the chopping block in terms of his future prospects with the UFC.
UFC 114 Rumored Card:
Quinton Jackson vs. Rashad Evans
Efrain Escudero vs. Dan Lauzon
