After nine long seasons, the Ultimate Fighter was looking a little stale. Yeah, the UFC revealed Roy Nelson as season 10’s token ringer. Yeah, Quinton and Rashad were coaching. Yeah, we had a bunch of NFL washouts. We still had nothing to really differentiate it from past seasons.
Enter Kimbo Slice.
Tell me you weren’t more excited for TUF 10 with Kimbo involved and I’ll call you a liar. The Kimbomb sent shockwaves through the MMA blogosphere. Worlds, as George Costanza would say, were colliding.
If you need any proof for Slice’s merit for the award, I’ll provide you with two numbers: 6.1 and 5.2 million. That’s the eyeballs Slice drew in his TUF fight with Nelson and his official UFC debut against Houston Alexander. Ye. Gods.
