What is this crap? FightLines: FAQ
Oh snap, we’re back. Did we go away to bring back a new and improved FightLines? Nope. Tinker with the finer points of the system? Nope. Unable to efficiently create graphs because of a computer crash and having to work on a half-decade old laptop? You got it!
Anyway, FightLines has returned and I’m excited to see all the haters come out of the woodwork because they’re unable to comprehend a graph full of nodes and lines.
With only a single loop eliminated (and that loop featuring two guys at the end of paths and the other guy way at the hanging out with Houston Alexander and Brandon Vera), there’s not much surprise here. Machida reigns supreme, followed by Rashad, and Forrest maintains his spot with unlooped victories over Rampage and Shogun.
The addition of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira to the UFC 205 mix really adds to the depth at the top of the division. Nogueira provides an interesting matchup for any of the guys in title contention, including a potential rematch with 2005 FOTY co-participant Shogun Rua.
We all know about the decline of former 205 mainstays Wanderlei Silva, Chuck Liddell, and Tito Ortiz. FightLines really highlights the fact that none of those guys have a significant win in the UFC over the last three years. Now, Wanderlei beat Jardine and Chuck beat Wanderlei, but as we can see above, that doesn’t mean much in the big picture of the division.
