Looking to quickly rebound from a shocking knockout loss to Paul Daley his last fight, Martin “the Hitman” Kampmann came out patient and technical against Jacob Volkmann.
Although both men caught each other flush with hard shots early, Kampmann was clearly starting to time Volkmann’s shots and eventually cracked him with a counter right-hand during a flurry. After smothering the talented wrestler on the ground from top position, Kampmann began to land some damaging ground-and-pound. Sensing his opportunity when Volkmann tried to stand, Kampmann grabbed the neck and locked in a very-tight guillotine.
No stranger to chokes himself, Volkmann immediately knew he had no recourse but to tap quickly, and he did so desperately with both hands. Kampmann vaults himself right back into the welterweight mix with an impressive submission victory.
