Scott Coker Says Strikeforce to Announce Two Heavyweight Signings

At the post fight press conference Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker stated that in seven to ten days the promotion would be announcing two big heavyweight signings.  He refused to give any hints as to who the heavyweights in question were but did seem to suggest that they would factor into the upper end of the division.

Looking at the available heavyweights that could fit the bill I would assume one of the two names is Andrei Arlovski.  Arlovski was cageside for the event and there have been rumors in the past that he could be making his way into the promotion.  Despite the knockout losses to Fedor and Brett Rogers, Andrei does remain a legitimate test for almost any heavyweight on the planet.

As for the second heavyweight?  M-1 didn’t seem to have much interest in the announcement so I doubt it’s Aleks Emelianenko plus Coker said during the lead up to the event that he won’t sign him until he clears up his medical issues.  Josh Barnett is too much of a risk at this point for Strikeforce to bring on board.  Jeff Monson isn’t a big enough name.

Bobby Lashley perhaps?
