MMAJunkie reports on the night’s bonuses:

TAMPA, Fla. – Josh Neer, Mac Danzig, Cain Velasquez and Joe Lauzon each earned $30,000 “fight night” bonuses for their performances at “UFC Fight Night 17: Lauzon vs. Franca.”

The bonus amounts matched the $30,000 bonuses that were given out at the most recent UFC Fight Night event in December 2008.

Fight Of The Night: Josh Neer vs. Mac Danzig
Knockout Of The Night: Cain Velasquez
Submission Of The Night: Joe Lauzon

And it looks like the UFC pulled a respectable attendance number for such a large Fight Night venue, but not a huge gate with their first trip to Tampa:

Saturday’s “UFC Fight Night 17: Lauzon vs. Stephens” event scored 7,596 attendees at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla.

The near-soldout crowd accounted for a live gate of approximately $428,000.

While the UFC’s “Fight Night” events are traditionally held in smaller venues, such as those at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and The Palms in Las Vegas, UFC Fight Night 17 stuck with a recent trend of hosting the shows in larger venues.

For example, UFC Fight Night 14 (April 2008), held at the Broomfield Event Center in Colorado, drew 6,742 attendees for a $753,429 gate. UFC Fight Night 15 (September 2008), held at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Nebraska, drew approximately 7,000 fans for a $700,000 gate. And UFC Fight Night 16 (December 2008), held at North Carolina’s Crown Coliseum as a fundraiser for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, drew approximately 8,500 attendees, all of whom were military personnel.
