Nate Diaz vs. Clay Guida – Round 1 – Right hand lands for Guida early and he flurries to get the body lock but can’t do anything with it. Uppercut lands for Diaz and Guida is doing a good job of keeping his hands up. Right/Left for Diaz now and he is starting to find his distance. Single leg attempt for from Guida but he has to give it up. Guida is most effective with his leg kicks right now but he is eating some straight punches. Diaz shoots and Guida reverses and ends up on top in the guard. Diaz gives his back up and stands up, avoiding a RNC attempt. Full Nelson by Guida and they’re on the ground in side control but Diaz stands back up again. Big takedown by Guida and he throws a few shots before Diaz tries to maneuver up. Now Guida has his back standing again. Guida ended up stealing the round with the takedowns and ground work on my card. But I could see it going the other way. Guida 10-9. Round 2 – Hip toss attempt by Diaz is defended. Now it’s long punches landing for Diaz again. They’re clinched up against the cage now as Guida works for a takedown. Guida is working hard but Diaz is defending well so far. Finally Guida gets him down but they get back up quickly. Guida takes his back standing yet again, He isn’t able to get the takedowns but he is controlling the fight pretty well not allowing Diaz any room to work on strikes. Trip takedown by Dias but Guida has his back, one knee to the body and Diaz stands back up. Takedown AGAIN and Diaz throws his legs up to get nothing. The round ends and I have to give it to Guida again. 10-9 Guida (20-18 total) Round 3 – Guida with a nice leg kick but he eats a jab. Right hook to the body by Diaz now. Big right hook by Diaz and Guida needs a takedown here. It’s a very simple story here, Diaz wins the fight when they are at distance and Guida wins in close. Diaz is taking over now with big strikes…both punches and knees. Guida is ale to get ahold of the legs now and while he isn’t getting the takedown he isn’t eating punches. Clay takes Diaz’s back off a trip attempt by Nick and they end up right back on the feet. 90 seconds to go. Single leg by Guida now and again Diaz stands back up. Another takedown and repeat the back to standing thing. 10-9 round for Diaz based on the early striking. 29-28 for Guida on the BloodyElbow scorecard. Beautiful judo throw by Karo and he is in side control now. Kim stands up without taking any damage. It’s a better round for Parisyan but he has to do some damage here. Time out to throw Karo’s mouthpice in and he is warned that he will lose a point if it comes out again. Right hand by Karo lands solidly. Karo is able to spin him and tries a jumping knee that misses. Single attempt by Karo but he isn’t able to finish. Kim tries for a takedown which Karo avoids by grabbing the fence. They’re still pressed against the fence and it really would be an appropriate time to separate them with a minute left in the fight. The round ends and I guess I give it to Kim…not an exciting fight. 10-9 Kim giving him the fight 29-28 on the BloodyElbow card. Official Scorecards – 29-28 Parisyan, 29-28 Kim, 29-28 Parisyan. Side kick by Jones, now a leg trip and he takes Bonnar’s back. This doesn’t look like a case of ring rust, i t just looks like Jones being a better fighter. Again GSP passes to side control but he eats some more elbows and is cut under the left eye. 10-8 round on my card and GSP is up 20-17. Penn got dominated in that round. Round 3 – Left hand for GSP now and Penn’s nose is bloodied. GSP is dominating the boxing apsect, and tore BJ apart on the ground. Cling by GSP and he uses the single leg to take down and passes to half guard quickly. Big left to the body by Georges. Hammerfiss now from GSP and Penn gets to his feet which was very much needed. It’s now Penn working for a single leg but GSP pulled out and pushes Penn back against the cage. Double leg and they’re right back down. Right elbow lands hard again. Left hand lands hard and then a right to the body. Not as bad of a round for Penn as the second, but it certainly wasn’t good. 10-9 GSP (30-26). Round 4 – Jab/low kick by GSP and he seems like he can do whatever he wants here. Now a single leg into half guard and then an easy pass to side control. Elbows now by GSP and this is one of the most dominant performances in a fight of this caliber I’ve ever seen. Both of Penn’s arms are trapped and GSP is landing punches and elbows at will. GSP tries for the mount but gets pulled to half guard but pulls his leg back out like it’s nothing. GSP is just battering Penn from side control here. Just an absolute barage from GSP here and Penn has not one single answer here. 10-8 round again and it’s 40-34 on my card. Round 5 – THERE WILL NOT BE A ROUND 5. Herb Dean stops the fight and Georges St. Pierre pulled off one of the most amazing performances I’ve ever seen. BJ Penn is one of the best fighters in the history of this sport and he was dominated in EVERY aspect of this fight. Georges St. Pierre wins by TKO (Corner Stoppage), round 4.
