Dave Meltzer reports that Anderson Silva is in negotiations to fight in September, and the idea is to have him fight at Light Heavyweight:
I do know that they have talked with Anderon Silva about being on the card and fighting at light heavy and he wasn’t opposed to it, but there was nothing agreed to as of last week.
Regardless of whether this fight ever happens, I am very stoked to see Anderson Silva at LHW. A fight with Okami is pointless now, I’d *much* rather see him fight Machida, Wand, Quinton, Chuck, and others than see him kill opponents with no chance. Cementing a legacy is one thing, fighting undeserving contenders is another entirely. Anderson walks around at something insane like 213 lbs, so while he wouldn’t be a gigantic LHW, he would still be solid sized for the division.
