Bloody Elbow 2.0 | Anton Tabuena

Our own head honcho Luke Thomas will be out seeing some live MMA tonight — and he’s even bringing a photographer to cover the action at Smash MMA in Fairfax, VA.

Looks like a solid card for a local event, featuring UFC vets Travis Wiuff and Travis Fulton in the headlining match.

No disrespect to any MMA legends, but the real draw for the locals is the MMA debut of local wrestling legend Johnny Curtis:

Former George Mason University standout wrestler and one of the most decorated athletes in the greater Washington region, Johnny Curtis, will make his professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) debut at SMASH, the highly-anticipated MMA show being held at GMU’s Patriot Center on Friday, Nov. 30. Curtis, a member of Fairfax High School’s Athletics Hall of Fame and former U.S. National team wrestler, starts his MMA career against Greg White (3-4) of Riverside (CA) Submission Camacho MMA gym in a special attraction heavyweight bout held on campus at Curtis’s alma mater.
