I was fortunate enough to be a guest on BetUs.com’s Fight Talk radio yesterday. We discussed the return of Evan Tanner to the UFC, odds for UFC 78 & 79, as well as the odds for the co-featured bouts for EliteXC: Renegade. Click here to listen.
Not a whole lot new here under the sun, but two points very quickly. First, the odds for Slice vs. Cantrell seem very exaggerated in Kimbo’s favor. Kimbo is nearly at -400 with Cantrell at +300. As big of a fan of Slice as I am and as likely it is that I think he’ll win, I don’t think it’s that likely. You wouldn’t be my worst enemy if you threw cash on Cantrell given the odds. Second, I talk a little about the claim by Dana White that the winners of Alexander vs. Silva and Evans vs. Bisping at UFC 78 will be in the top 10 and top 5 of the worldwide light heavyweight division respectively. Without belaboring the point, just know that’s extraordinarily ludicrous. I understand the business reasons compelling White to say those things, but as a matter of record it’s outlandish.
