From Wrestling Observer:
Updated Los Angeles Coliseum Hero’s/EXC dual show
This is the current line-up that will be announced tomorrow by FEG:
Brock Lesnar vs. Choi Hong-man 5 rounds
Royce Gracie vs. Kazushi Sakuraba 5 rounds
Mighty Mo vs. Choi Mu Bae 3 rounds
Ray Sefo vs. Marvin Eastman 3 rounds
Melvin Manhoef vs. Yoon Dong Sik 3 rounds
Johnnie Morton vs. Bernard Ackah 3 rounds
Jake Shields vs. Ido Pariente 3 rounds
Gina Carano vs. Jan Finney 3 rounds
J.Z. Calvan (Gesias Calvacanti) vs. Nam Phan 3 rounds
Javier Vazquez vs. Katsuhiko Nagata 3 rounds
Brad Pickett vs. Hideo Tokoro 3 rounds
They are attempting to sign Antonio Silva vs. Ricco Rodriguez but that match is not final.
It should be noted that the California State Athletic Commission, which has been noted for stringent provisions in sanctioning mixed martial arts under executive officer Armando Garcia, has requested a full physical examination of Sakuraba.
The mandate was expected, given the 38-year-old Sakuraba’s now-infamous fainting spell during training this past September, and the subsequent medical tests that revealed damage to Sakuraba’s vertebrobasilar system, preventing proper blood circulation in his head and neck.
The match I’m most excited about is the Jake Shields fight to be honest. Shields is a top 10 welterweight (trains with Cesar Gracie) who I think could step in the ring with Koschek, Diego, or GSP tomorrow and have a strong chance to win.
As for Royce/Sakuraba II. I think that’s alright, it’s like senior league golf. Just don’t make me watch either of them getting creamed by today’s new breed of fighter.
Lesnar vs Hong is less a freakshow than it might appear at first glance but there’s definitely an element of the circus involved.
