According to Sports911.com, the “Softbank presents Dynamite!! USA in association with ProElite” K-1 event on June 2 at the Los Angeles Memorial Colliseum will be aired half on Showtime (the Elite XC portion) and half on PPV (the K-1 portion). Notable quote:
Remember, K-1, Elite XC, Spirit MC, BodogFight, Cage Rage, and Strikeforce have all banded together to fight the Zuffa brand. I think that makes sense. Breaking up the event into partial cable, partial PPV seems convoluted and destined for failure. Who is going to pay for 6 fights after watching a few for free? My guess is they think the first few fights will entice viewers to order PPV, but they’ll probably be inclined to turn the channel and keep watching free tv.
